OVERVIEW
Provided assistance to the founder in optimizing his idea through good design as a team. Founder was
seeking for a platform that would bring together many social media platforms and allow them to regulate
the content.
With a team of three, we completed a social media app design process for this objective.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Todd needs personalized and meaningful ways to connect with his son, James, but he’s often busy traveling for work. He needs to be able to plan his time with James and be more involved in his social life and education.

Based on the insights we gathered from our research, we established three primary project goals for our design.
First, we aimed to create a user-friendly interface that allowed for easy customization, so Todd could have control over what content and contacts he sees in his feed. We recognized that this level of control is often lacking in other social media apps.
Secondly, we sought to make the app appealing to a wide range of age groups, including teenagers, young adults, parents, and children. This meant designing an interface that would be intuitive and engaging for users of all ages.
Finally, we aimed to incorporate features that would facilitate real-life experiences and meetups, allowing users to take their online connections offline. By prioritizing these three goals, we aimed to create a social media app that would meet the diverse needs and preferences of our users.
In conclusion, we recognize that group chats are an essential component of any social media app, and as UX designers, we aimed to create a user-friendly experience that empowers Todd to connect with others, exchange ideas, and build meaningful relationships within his communities.
Todd, the user, desired to have a certain level of control over his feed, which essentially means that he wanted to dictate the narrative. However, after conducting a thorough competitive analysis, we realized that content recommendations hold immense significance in keeping the users engaged.
We looked at Todd's different profiles and found it would be helpful to create avatars for each of them. This means Todd can switch between profiles based on who he wants to talk to. For example, he can have one profile for his family and another for his love of Star Trek. Each profile can have different interests and activities that suit Todd's needs and make it more fun for him.
Sketching Phase
Through these sessions, we identified that the family and contacts hub was a crucial element that required our primary focus. This hub would provide users with a central location to manage and connect with their closest friends and family members. We recognized that this hub would be a vital component of our design and placed a strong emphasis on it.Our goal was to create a user-friendly design that catered to the needs and desires of our users. We aimed to ensure that the design would provide a seamless user experience that placed the user's social connections at the forefront.Overall, this design process allowed us to create a prototype that met the requirements of the client, satisfied our user persona Todd's needs, and catered to the desires of our target audience.
As a team, we conducted two rounds of user research and diligently analyzed the results to identify areas for improvement in our project. We actively incorporated the feedback we received and iterated on our design to ensure it best met the needs of our users.
